Paris

Paris has so many things to do and see. So many museums and buildings, but that can all be very cliche. Don’t get me wrong I did all those touristy things as well and I expect that anyone who goes to Paris will aswell. But one thing that was well worth the 98euro was a cabaret show at La Nouvelle Eve. You have a 4-course meal while watching the most entertaining show. With each course, they bring out a new bottle of wine for you to drink (something about people in Europe drinking so much wine astounds me because I don’t like wine no matter how many different wines I taste). The show includes beautiful dancers, comedians and acrobats, who engage its audiences by getting people involved in the show. Okay I know everyone hears about Moulin Rouge and wants to go there, but why would you pay 185euro when you can watch a similar show at an amazing establishment that’s only a five-minute walk away.

Alright, so I have to tell about this. While in Paris my friends and I wanted to ride a bike around the city, what a beautiful way to see everything! The Paris government have placed bikes all around the city where you can swipe your card and you have a bike for the day. You can even return it to another bay around the city. But what I didn’t know is it takes 600euro as a bond for non-locals! I had just lost 600euro for a week and a half, and the best bit, we couldn’t even get the bikes out the stands so we didn’t ride the bikes! I do recommend going to a bike shop to hire them that way you won’t be losing 600euro as a bond for a week, cause man that was like all the money I had!

Also, I don’t know if any of you guys have been to Paris but honestly, I found it such a letdown. I had such high expectations of the city of love. It’s supposed to be beautiful, have the best dessert (which it did trust me!) and its meant to be where you fall in love. For me, I just found it so dirty and dodgy! There was rubbish all over the streets and the bins stank. Bags of rubbish were pilled on the sidewalk as well. It just didn’t give me the vibe that you see in movies.

If you have had a better experience in Paris than me or you did fall in love, I love to hear your stories!
